A Highlight on the Rock Band From Sweden

Vains of Jenna isn’t a name that everybody has heard, but it’s a name that is definitely worth looking into.  After releasing their second album, “The Art of Telling Lies,” the sleaze rock group from Sweden finished up a European tour, with a new lead singer and guitarist to boot.

Vains of Jenna got their start back in 2006, when Jackass star Bam Magera signed the band to his Filthy Note Records label. Since then they have released two albums, “Lit Up/Let Down” and “The Art of Telling Lies,” gone on many tours, and accumulated a large following of die-hard fans.

Now back in the studio, the band, Jesse Forte (vocals), Nicki Kin (guitar), Jacki Stone (drums), Anton Sevholt (guitar), and J.P. White (bass), have new songs that will please both newcomers to the Vains of Jenna fan club and longtime fans. When asked if the new album will have the same Vains of Jenna vibe as the two previous ones, guitarist Kin replied, “Well, we have a new singer now and new rhythm player too, so the band sounds a little bit different, in a good way. I like our new songs.”

New to fame, “I’m still getting used to people asking me for my autograph and to take pictures with them,” Forte says, the band is exploding fast.  With celebrities like Bam Magera and Kat Von D backing them up, their fame will only grow.

With collective influences such as Led Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, and Nirvana, the band has a unique sound. Each member is very talented so their sound is also sharp and exciting to hear. It’s reminiscent of the sleaze rock bands of the 1980s, though Vains of Jenna makes their music distinct and modern. Hits like “Mind Pollution” and “Enemy in Me” are sure to swell the band’s growing popularity.

Although they are always busy with touring, writing, and recording, the five members of Vains of Jenna couldn’t be happier with their careers which is, “to play music and create something that people can relate to, and of course to hang out with the other four guys!” guitarist Sevholt says.

Drummer Jacki Stone adds, “I love everything that has to do with the band… touring, recording, rehearsals etc. To be able to do what I love with my friends every day is something very cool.”

We can expect to hear from Vains of Jenna soon, when they release the music video for the hit “Everybody Loves You When You’re Dead” which will be their first video with new singer Jesse Forte and new guitarist Anton Sevholt. “The video is being edited right now and will probably be out early August 2010,” says bassist J.P. White.

The band also has a special message for their Midwestern fans! “Can’t wait to rock out with you again!” says Stone.
